Track team gets several in state

Canby-Minneota’s track team had three relay teams and three individuals advance from the Section 3A Tournament Thursday at Montevideo.
Carter Wente, Cameron Anderson, Cole VanOverbeke and Isaac Hennen won the 4×100 in 45.19 seconds.
With Jared Josephson stepping in the third spot for Cole VanOverbeke, the Lancers won the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:33.41.
Wente also will compete at state in the 110 hurdles, after winning Thursday’s championship event in :15.4 seconds.
For the girls, Grace Drietz qualified in both the 800-meters and 1,600-meters and so did the 4x200-meter relay team. Norah King also qualified in the discus.
Drietz won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.42, while placing second in the 1,600 at 5:20.40.
The Class A Championships will be held June 8-9 at Hamline University in St. Paul.
