The golf ball hit by Dorie Teigland last week landed in a bird's nest in a tree on hole No. 4.

An unusual way to get a birdie

Dorie Teigland didn't get a birdie on hole No. 4 during her golf outing last Sunday, but she did manage to land her shot in a bird's nest.
Teigland was golfing at Countryside Golf Club with her husband, Jerry. Her drive on the par-4 No. 4 hole was in the fairway, so she pulled out her three-wood for her second shot.
"There were arborvitaes in my line and when I hit the ball, it went into the bushes," Teigland explained. "I didn't see it come back out so we went to look for it."
After searching for a while, Dorie told Jerry that she needed to hit another ball. About that time Jerry, who was still searching in the arborvitae bushes, moved some branches then told his wife to "come here and take a look."
Dorie peeked in the bushes and there sat her fluorescent yellow Calloway ball, resting comfortable in a bird's nest in one of the bushes.
"I couldn't believe it," she said. "I told Jerry I needed to take a picture of it because no one will believe this."
At least now she can tell people she got a birdie on No. 4. Well, a birdie nest to be more precise.
