Vikings continue to scorch nets in win
It’s hard to beat Minneota, but when the Vikings shoot 56 percent from the field, it’s nearly impossible. The Class A top-ranked Vikings (20-1) made 34 of 64 shots and stormed past Yellow Medicine East 82-42 Friday night in Granite Falls.
Abby Hennen poured in 26 points, Natalee Rolbiecki had 22 and Morgan Hennen 18. Those three combined to make 27 of 48 shots. Abby Hennen also notched six rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Morgan Hennen had a team-high seven boards and also made three steals. The Vikings forced YME into 27 turnovers, while only allowing nine themselves. Abby Rost grabbed five of Minneota’s 19 steals.
Since Minneota lost to Goodhue on Jan. 11, the Vikings have won seven straight games by 32, 85, 35, 58, 52, 53 and 40 points; an average margin of 50.7 points.
Hannah Stake scored 17 points for YME.
