Vikings drubbed by LQPV, 7-2

Blake Wollschlager drove in three runs to back the four-hit pitching of Avery Wittnebel, who struck out 12, as Lac qui Parle Valley defeated Minneota 7-2 on Monday at K.P, Kompelien Field in Minneota.
The Vikings (7-5) scored both of their runs in the fifth inning. With one out, Jonah Gruenes singled. With two outs, Ryan Dalager walked and Jayden Gamrak reached on an error that scored Gruenes with the first run. Tyler Gronke then singled home Dalager.
Dalager started on the hill for the Vikings and was touched for eight hits and seven runs in 2 2/3 innings pitched. He was the victim of a couple of bloop hits and some fielding miscues, with only three of the runs earned off him.
Minneota, normally a reliable fielding team, made five errors.
Gamrak pitched the final 4 1/3 innings of relief and only allowed one hit and no runs, while walking two and striking out five.
"We were looking for a fourth pitcher going into sections," said assistant coach J.D. Pesch. "Jayden showed he could be that guy."
