Vikings sweep TMB; Canby up next

Minneota swept a strong Tracy-Milroy-Balaton team on the road Tuesday night, setting up the Camden South Conference showdown with Canby tonight (October 14).
The Vikings improved to 10-0 in the conference and 20-3 overall with the win. Canby is also unbeaten in the conference.
"TMB is always a team that defends well," said Minneota coach Hayley Fruin. "Canby is a veteran team. They have a lot of offensive threats. We just really need to be aware of their tendencies and serve tough to keep them out of their system."
Against TMB, the Vikings' defense played well with Lyzah Sussner notching 21 digs, McKenna Yost had 15, Natalee Rolbiecki 12, Ireland Stassen nine and Grace Hennen eight.
Natalee Rolbiecki led a balanced hitting attack with 15 kills, while Ella Johnson added 11 kills, Abby Frie eight, and Stassen and Emma Bottelberghe five apiece.
Yost had another solid night spreading the offense around as evidenced by 27 assists. Stassen, who was returning after missing the previous match with an injury, had 10 assists.

The Vikings (19-3) stayed atop the Camden Conference standing with a 9-0 mark, setting up a showdown next Thursday with Canby, which is also 9-0.
The Vikings got a balanced hitting attack en route to another sweep with Natalee Rolbiecki leading the way with 14 kills. Ella Johnson notched a season-high 12 kills, Abby Frie notched 11, Elivia Faris six, Emma Bottelberghe four and Kennedi Jurrens one.
Ireland Stassen, a junior hitter/setter, missed the match to rest an injury. The Vikings ditched their 6-2 offense and employed a 5-1 with McKenna Yost doing all the setting. She finished with 45 assists.
"McKenna is a 6-rotation player, so running a 5-1 was not much of an adjustment for her," said coach Hayley Fruin. "She is a veteran player. I thought she did a great job of setting the offense on Thursday. I was really impressed with her discipline on defense as well. She had some really difficult digs."
McKenzie Tolk had another solid defensive showing with 17 digs. Lyzah Sussner contributed 13 digs, Yost 12, Rolbiecki 10 and Bottelberghe nine.
