Vultures clip Canby, 14-3; and revenge Madison, 6-3

A 14-3 win over Canby was nice — but Tuesday the Minneota Vultures, Jr. Legion team revenged Madison, 6-3.

Earlier they lost to Madison, 18-0. “They played awesome!!! We beat Madison 6-3! I am so proud of them,” said Coach J.D. Pesch.

After the previous loss to Madison, he spent nearly an hour talking to his team about their poor performance.

Apparently, it helped.

Thomas Hennen got the win and Tate Walerius hit a homerun (over the fence).

“We just had one error,” Pesch said about his team’s defense. “We finally played the game the way it should be played . . . one pitch at a time, adjusting along the way,” said the coach.

Minneota 14, Canby 3

Grady Moorse pitched very well and the Minneota Vultures Jr. Legion baseball team notched it’s second win of the year over Canby, 14-3 on Friday.

The Vultures put up all 14 runs in the second inning and finished the game in five innings.

Jacob Hennen threw the first four innings, giving up one run, three hits with one walk and seven strikeouts. Cole Sanow pitched the final inning, allowing two runs on two walks and a hit.

Grady Moorse knocked in three runs; Josh Laleman and Tate Walerius had a pair of hits and Teddy Pesch, Landon Rolbiecki and Jacob Hennen each knocked in two runs.
