Minneota's Lydia Sussner fought 6-5 Kristi Fett of Lyle-Pacelli, but it ended up being a losing battle and the Athletics won, 53-41. Lizzy Gillingham also fought for the ball against the 6-5 Fett.

Cole VanOverbeke (center) won the coveted Johnny T Award named after Johnny Tillemans, a huge Minneota Viking wrestling fan. His family sponsors the award and they surrounded VanOverbeke for the photo. They included (left to right) Carey Doyscher, Sandy Doyscher, Deb Gilbertson, Travis Gillund and LuAnn Hinz. Gillund presented the award on behalf of the family and Coach Joel Skillings is at the right.

You’d never hear it from him, but Sunday at the Annual Wrestling Banquet, it was announced that Viking Coach Joel Skillings has “cracked the top 10” in wrestling wins by a Minnesota coach.
