April High School Viking Valor Students

Junior/Senior High School

Alyssa Engels comes to class prepared, ready to learn and ready to work. She is a positive influence in class, leading by example. She is involved with several activities outside of class and works to do her best at whatever she does.

Carter Schuelke is a great student that is very respectful to his teachers and fellow students. He is a pleasure to have in class and is always striving to better himself. He is always willing to go the extra mile to help out other people. It is not uncommon for him to be the last one to leave the gym because he sticks around and helps me put away equipment that was used that day. He could easily take off to the locker rooms like other students but he chooses to stay behind and make sure everything is in an orderly fashion.

Katie Konold is a wonderfully positive force in the classroom. She regularly shows concern for her classmates and for her own learning. Katie performs at a high level and questions when she is confused. Her interest is in the learning, not just getting the correct answer Katie often asks, “Why”, not just “Is this right?” She usually has a smile on her face and asks after her teachers as well as her friends.

Grace Jeremiason is wonderfully well-rounded student. She is always smiling and asking others how they are doing. She will help others without being asked, and goes above and beyond to be pleasant to every person around her. In the classroom, Grace takes every lesson in stride, she helps everyone, and always goes out of her way to make others feel included.

Ashlynn Craft. I appreciate that Ashlynn gives 100% effort in all that she does. No matter the task, mathematical, fitness or game related, Ashlynn pushes herself to do her best. She is also kind, polite and optimistic. She greets each day with a smile and is interested in things beyond herself. Ashlynn is a mature and responsible young lady that I truly enjoy having in class.

Beth Hennen: Beth is a conscientious student. She works hard at every assignment and is attempting to master the material instead of just looking for an easy way to get the 'A'. She has a no-nonsense demeanor, and that quality leads her peers to seek her out for advice on their major assignments. She helps others grow by giving them meaningful feedback, and in turn, she learns the material more deeply herself. Beth is also one of the first students to thank a teacher or other staff member for helping her out or for providing some service. Beth's characteristics lead to an easy choice for Student of the Month recognition.
