'Dunk a Democrat' & Lyon County DFL Headquarters Grand Opening

If you’ve been paying attention to state or national politics, you may have heard mention of a coming “blue wave.”

The expression refers to the anticipated series of Democratic victories in the upcoming mid-term elections. Well, a grand opening of the new Campaign Headquarters will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27 at 1301 E. College Drive in Marshall, and you’ll get a chance to “Dunk a Democrat!”

Ben Walker, Chair of the Lyon County DFL Chapter said, “Whether you’re Democrat or Republican — perhaps especially if you’re Republican — you may have always wanted to dunk a Democrat. Well, here’s your chance,” joked Walker about a “dunk tank” at the event.

He added, “It’ll be a fun way to vent your political frustrations.” “We’re really excited about this new space,” he said, “This will be a great resource to help elect our local candidates as well as those running for office at the state and national levels.”

And the Democrats are luring in everyone with a special free treat — Schwan’s ice cream and root beer floats. On hand will be Tom Wyatt-Yerka, candidate for State House (District 16A).
