Former businessman responds to accusations

Dear Editor,

In reading about the Minneota City Council’s denial of a residential business, I felt victim to some of the accusations.

I have never met Cory Sandhurst so I will speak in my own defense. My dad and I went full-time in January 1988.

I do have documentation filed away on the re-zoning approved by the city council, so we did follow proper channels. Because of daily business activity and respect for my neighbors, most of my painting was done at night, two- to three-nights per week.

Understanding VOC compliance mandated by the EPA our spray equipment and products were up to code and facility well maintained.

A majority of our paint work was due to minor collisions, 2-3 panel repairs, so doubtful anyone was suffering from headaches.

I felt the inaccuracies stated were used to bolster their argument. We were very proud to operate one of the cleanest properties in town, not to mention the services we provided and monies donated back to any community causes that called on us for 23 years.

All my loyal customers are greatly missed.
