Around 90 Minneota public and parochial teachers and administrators enjoyed an appreciation meal at Bethel Fellowship Church on Aug. 15.

Bethel Church hosts annual Teachers' Appreciation Meal

Bethel Fellowship Church in Minneota held its seventh annual Teachers' Appreciation Meal on prior to the upcoming 2022-23 school year.
This year's meal, prepared by members of the Bethel Fellowship Church, was held on Monday, Aug. 15 at the church. There were just under 90 in attendance.
Bethel Fellowship Pastor Tom Nomeland welcomed the guests that included administrators, teachers and support staff.
"The church appreciated what they do for our children," said Pastor Nomeland. "We prayed and asked the Lord to protect the school and all those attend there, to grant wisdom, knowledge, patience and encouragement as they strive to educate, and infuse a character of righteousness and goodness."
School personnel that attended were from both the Public School and St. Edward's School.
"A teacher's influence is almost without measure, as the fruit of teaching can extend to eternity," Nomeland told the faculty members in attendance. "A Chinese proverb says, if you plan for one year, plant rice. If you plan for 10 years, plant fruit trees. If your plan is for a lifetime, educate children."
The meal consisted of barbecues, potato salad, baked beans, potato chips and chocolate chip cookies.
"Everyone seemed to enjoy the break, and of course, the meal," said Pastor Nomeland. "There was a pleasant atmosphere of appreciation, enjoyment and fun."
