DIGITAL SIGN TO BE ADDED TO VETERANS PARK SOON

Minneota's Veterans Park, already one of the nicest parks honoring veterans in the region, will make another improvement by including a digital community sign.
Minneota American Legion Commander Jim Fink proposed installing a new digital sign at a recent City Council meeting.
"I've had it in the back of my mind for quite some time," he said.
The cost of this project will be covered by the American Legion and the Minneota Rotary Club.
The City Council unanimously approved the installation of the 5' x 8' digital sign in Veterans Park by the American Legion. "The sign is being shipped in mid-May and we are going to try and get it installed soon after that," said Fink. "It's a two-sided board that will face east and west."
The sign will replace the current wooden community notification board that sits on the corner of Highway 68 and Jefferson Street. The current sign will be removed soon.
The digital sign was ordered from Steven's Signs in Sarasota, FL. Several of this company's signs can be seen throughout southwest Minnesota.
"We're hoping the weather cooperates so we can have this sign up and running by Memorial Day so we can use it with our program at the park," said Fink. "We can list the names of the new pavers and other information on it."
The City of Minneota will be in charge of posting information on the board such as the time, temperature, sporting events and other information.
