His mission: keeping others safe & healthy

Janiszeski begins radon testing, mitigation company
"I know this can have a long-term effect on the community I grew up in and I want to make sure everyone is safer and healthier." - Chad Janiszeski

While living in Colorado, where he met his wife Christina, Minneota native Chad Janiszeski had always envisioned returning to his roots.
With their first child due this past September, they packed up their belongings and made the eastern trek to Minnesota. They settled in Eden Prairie this past February, where Chad went to work for Lyman Lumber Company.
Chad, Christina and their nine-month-old daughter Charlie have since moved to Minneota and have lived with Chad's parents, Doug and Julie Janiszeski, the past two months; recently transitioning into their own home.
"Family always comes first for me," said Janiszeski, when explaining the reason for the return. "My parents live in Minneota and I wanted them, as well as other family members, to be able to spend as much time with Charlie as possible."
Chad has now started his own company, called "Triple C" Radon Testing and Mitigation, LLC, which is a derivation of the first letter of Chad, Christina and Charlie.
What many homeowners don't realize is the importance of testing for radon, which is the number one cause of lung cancer among non-smokers.
The average level of radon in homes in Minnesota is more than three times the national average.
"The reason for the high level of radon is because of the sediments the soil contains in the Midwest," Janiszeski explained. Janiszeski is well known in the area as a former high school standout runner for Canby/Minneota. He won the Class A state title in the two-mile run in 2004 as a senior, while finishing second in the mile. He also placed sixth in the state in the two-mile and ninth in the mile as a junior. In cross country, he was second in the state as a senior.
After he graduated from Minneota in 2004, he earned a Marketing degree at Minnesota State, Mankato. He eventually moved to Colorado to seek employment because he had enjoyed that state during a previous visit. He went to work for T. Rowe Price in Colorado Springs, where Christina was already employed.
Chad also worked for Target Distribution Center as an Operations Manager from 2015-2020. Chad and Christina were married in 2017 and then decided to make the move to his home state.
Charlie Amada was born on Sept. 16, 2020 in Minnesota.
Chad's uncle, Thor Wiebe, who owns and operates Thor Wiebe Home Inspections, which also includes radon testing and mitigation, taught his nephew the ropes.
"I worked with (Thor) while I was in high school and college and I really learned a lot from him," said Chad. "With a wife and a child now, I realize the importance of keeping everyone healthy, so I had a conversation with Christina and we decided it would be beneficial if I started my own business."
Chad received his certification through the National Radon Proficiency Program and the Minnesota Department of Health.
Chad had always had a busy schedule, working 15-16 hours a day for Lyman Lumber. Having his own business that he can run out of his own home allows him to spend more quality time with his family now.
"The risk might be serious, but it's miniscule compared to the great support that I have from family and friends," he said. "The reward is that I can raise a family in a small community where I grew up. I want nothing less for our children."
At least 70 percent of the homes in Minnesota are above the EPA Action Level for radon gas. Testing a home for radon is easy.
"I come into your home and place a continuous radon test for 48 hours," Janiszeski explained. "If the test shows a high EPA action level, radon reduction is needed.”
“In simple terms, a radon reduction system consists of re-routing soil gas infiltration through the PVC pipe and venting it to the exterior of the home."
Janiszeski's motto for his new business is, "Safe Homes. Healthy Families. Safe & Healthy Futures."
"I want to make sure my family is safe and healthy," he said. "I also know this can have a long-term effect on the community I grew up in and I want to make sure everyone is safer and healthier."
