Sock Hop at Legion April 5

A 50's-style Sock Hop is scheduled for Friday, April 5 at the American Legion building in Minneota.
The event will be held from 7-10 p.m.
The Minneota FCCLA students will be selling socks for a Clubfoot Repair Project at the Sock Hop. The project raises and donates money for surgeries for children born with the deformity.
"We are hoping that people will come dressed like it's the 50's and come to dance and have a good time," said Tina Myhre.
Joe Voit will be the DJ putting together a playlist for the evening's event.
The Legion will be selling 1919 root beer and cans of pop, as well as water and popcorn. There will also be snack mix and candy that was popular in the 50's on hand.
The admission cost is $5 per person, or those attending can purchase the FCCLA socks, which will be the same price.
"We just wanted to have a fun event that families and teens can come to practice their swing dancing skills and celebrate with loved ones," Myhre said.
