Summer Reading program going strong

TAILS & TALES, our summer reading program, will continue through Aug. 31. I am very pleased to say that the participation in this program has been stupendous.
Thank you to all of those participating in the reading challenge and the Wednesday evening story hour. Many youths have turned in reading logs and will soon complete all eight of them. They continue to draw for prizes and enter their names for the grand prize drawing to be held Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 5:30 p.m. I am delighted with the turnout
We have some other good news: the library is sponsoring a series of readings by authors with ties to the area. “Minneota Connections: A Legacy of Writers and Readings” starts at the end of July.
We have scheduled seven different writers/artists for four different dates. Sara Dovre Wudali and Michael Kleber-Diggs will read on Thursday, July 29, at 7 p.m. at the library.
Our second reading in the series will be Saturday, Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. featuring Dave Pichaske.
The third reading will be on the Saturday of Boxelder Bug Days and feature Gail Wyffels Boe and Dana Yost and Luke Yost. (We have it set for 11 a.m. but check for updates on the time of the readings).
Our last reading in the series will be John S. Allen on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m.
