WRIGHT BROTHERS PRESENTATION TO BE HELD OCT. 21
The Lyon County Museum is hosting David Johnston, the American History Story Teller at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21. Johnston will present on “The Wright Brothers First Flight at Kitty Hawk, NC”. This program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

COLLECTIONS STORAGE OPEN HOUSE OCT. 24
In December 2023, the Lyon County Historical Society received a Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grant of $141,000 towards the implementation of a compact storage system in the basement storage room of the Lyon County Museum. A portion of funds received from the late Mark Goodenow, along with donations from members supported this project.
On Thursday, Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and 5-7 p.m., there is an Open House for the Mark S. Goodenow Collections Storage Room. Get a behind the scenes tour of the storage system and renovated space along with seeing how the collection is organized and stored when not on exhibit.

HALLOWEEN FAMILY FUN DAY OCT. 26
Halloween Family Fun Day at the Museum will be from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. This is a free event. All kids dressed in costume will receive a treat bag.
Activities will include: Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt, Crafts, Coloring Activities, and $2 Orange or Root Beer Floats in the museum’s ice cream shop.
