MINNEOTA AREA MEMORY

On the first day of spring on March 18, 1951, a heavy snowstorm fell over the Minneota area, lasting for two days and dumping 14 inches of snow. The vehicle pictured was left abandoned in the ditch along Highway 68 two miles east of Ghent and nearly completely covered by snow. Roads were blocked for four days in this area. A total of 45 inches of snow fell in the month of March over the Minneota area.
