MINNEOTA MEMORY

Jim Coens of Minneota poses with several of the 30 carrots he harvested from his garden on Feb. 12, 1976. Coens noticed something green emerging from the snow and found several carrots still growing. He hadn't harvested them all last fall because he already had more than enough. Coens said neither the carrots nor the ground was frozen and that the vegetables tasted just as good as those picked in the summer.
