MINNEOTA MEMORY

Four railway express cars carrying a record shipment of chicks from Dr. Kerr's Hatcheries to poultry raisers all over the Northwest were loaded in Tracy on March 28, 1951. The sign on the side of one of the boxcars reads: "3 carloads of baby chicks — largest shipment ever made in the world. From Dr. Kerr's Hatcheries, Minneota, Minn. It took workers and truckers over 30 hours to box the chicks in the hatchery, haul them to Tracy, and load them on the train.
