Spring Clean-up in Minneota is April 23
The annual Minneota Spring Clean-up is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23.
Items must be placed by the curb by 6 a.m. of that day to be included in the pick-up service.
Items allowed to be picked up for free are: Household goods, furniture, other bulky items.
Items NOT allowed are: Demolition materials, pianos, RV refrigerators, shrubs, grass trimmings, tree branches, garden greens, and compost items.
Appliances must be pre-paid at the City Office at 129 E. First Street in Minneota. Appliances without a sticker will not be picked up.
The following items must be pre-paid: Air conditioners, televisions, freezers, furnaces, refrigerators, dehumidifiers, water heaters, microwaves, computer monitors, washers, dryers, water coolers, and mattresses and/or box springs.
Appliance disposal fee is $25 per item. Mattresses or box spring disposals are $35 per item.
Hazardous items will also not be collected, including: Batteries, cleaning supplies, household hazardous waste, house and yard chemicals, oil and/or oil filters, paint, varnish, petroleum products, and tires.
Hazardous materials should be dropped off at the Lyon County Public Works Building, 504 Fairgrounds Road in Marshall from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month.
