High School Softball

Minneota/Canby committed 12 errors in the first game and managed only three hits in the second game in a doubleheader loss to Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Monday night in Minneota.
TMB won the opener 14-11 despite being outhit by the Vikings 9-7. The Panthers completed the sweep with an 11-7 triumph in the finale.
The teams each had 15 errors in the two games.
The Vikings (6-7) trailed 14-5 in the opener before plating six runs in the last of the seventh.
AshleeAnn Cole Frazeur, Kenadi Arndt and Tessah Anhalt had two hits apiece for the Vikings. Arndt and Rachel Fairchild drove in two runs each.
TMB rallied from a 3-2 deficit by scoring four times in the fifth and five more in the sixth. The Vikings scored three times in the top of the seventh, but the rally was again quelled.
Faith Myhre, Fairchild and Frazeur had the three Viking hits.

Vikings repel Blackjacks
Rachel Fairchild drove in three runs, and Kendi Arndt and Joelle Otto knocked in two runs apiece as Minneota/Canby outslugged Dawson-Boyd 12-10 in a Camden Conference game on Thursday in Dawson.
Brooke DeSmet worked the first six innings for the win. Otto finished with one inning of scoreless relief for the save.
Minneota/Canby led 7-4 before plating five runs in the top of sixth inning to take a 12-4 lead. Otto doubled in two runs and Dakota Pesch added a run-scoring double. The other three runs scored on Blackjack errors.
Dawson-Boyd then rallied back to score six times in its half of the sixth, but was unable to overtake the Vikings (6-5).
Fairchild, Otto and Faith Myhre had two hits apiece for the Vikings, who finished with 11 hits. Pesch, Kiersyn Hulzebos, Isabelle Hulzebos, Autumn Tooley and Kenadi Arndt had one hit each, Arndt had a two-run double in the third inning.
Alli Estling had two hits and drive in four runs for the Blackjacks. Kate Dahl also had two hits.

RCW rolls past Vikings
Kaitlyn Flann and Avery Posl combined to strike out eight batters and Renville County West scored in every inning en route to an 18-3 triumph over Minneota/Canby on Tuesday, May 2.
The Vikings (5-5) committed eight errors which led to 11 unearned runs. RCW also had nine hits and were issued seven walks by two Minneota/Canby pitchers.
Isabelle Hulzebos had two of the Vikings’ five hits. Dakota Pesch had the lone RBI for the Vikings, knocking in Autumn Tooley in the fourth inning with a double. Tooley reached by getting hit by a pitch.
Flann earned the win, pitching four innings and allowing one earned run, while striking out seven. Avery Posl finished.
