THE CHIEF'S VIEW

Are you excited about Bug Days this weekend? The weather is supposed to be cooler, and the scheduled events are fantastic! With that being said, I could use your help with some safety steps and house cleaning.
(1) If you plan to drink alcohol at the event you MUST have your ID checked and be wearing a wristband. There will be several people handing them out. Get one early and wear it all weekend. This allows me to quickly scan the crowd and determine who has been checked and who has not. And yes, you must get a wristband even if you are old, look old, or feel old. There are no exceptions. If you don’t like it just smile and say thank you, otherwise you will not be served.
(2) If you drink, please put your empties in the trash and don’t leave your drink unattended. No one should have to pick up after you and unattended drinks often end up in the hands of children. Drink responsibly and act responsibly.
(3) Parents, please pay attention to your kids and know where they are, who they are with, and what they are doing. In the past, every child who had problems at Bug Days was not being supervised by their parents. The Bug Days event is not a daycare, and you are still responsible for your children.
(4) Minneota takes great pride in this event, and we work very hard to ensure it is family-friendly, safe, and fun. Your help is greatly appreciated and NEEDED. Together we can ensure a fun and safe time for all.
