OUTSIDE LOOKING IN

PLAY-BY-PLAY ANNOUNCERS NEEDED
If anyone is interested in becoming the next Al Michaels or even Beth Mowins (Google her if you aren't familiar with the name), here's your chance to get your feet wet.
Minneota Public School is looking for anyone with a sports background that is interested in providing play-by-play for livestreams of high school sports for the 2023-24 school year. For now, this would be for boys and girls basketball, and wrestling.
Play-by-play announcers would be needed if/when Marshall Radio is unable to be at the site in order to call the game or match.

FINDING LIVESTREAMS
Several individuals have discussed with me about the school's livestreaming of sporting events this fall season.
One thing to make sure you understand is that when searching for a way to view a certain sporting event, there are possible "scams" that find their way on the Minneota Activities and Athletics Facebook page.
Activities Director Patty Myrvik informed me that there are two options to look for when searching for the livestream event of your choice.
(1) Go to the school's website, click on the main calendar and search for the date of the event you want to view. There will be a small camera icon with "Live" next to it. If you click on that, it will direct you to the correct livestream.
(2) Go to the Minneota Activities/Athletics Facebook page and click only on the link provided by a post directly from the AD, never on a commented link as that is where someone is trying to link you to a scam.
The school decided to hook up with HUDL livestreaming this year because it provided them with the ability to livestream sports and activities at all levels and not just varsity.
Some events are currently without play-by-play broadcasting, which makes it somewhat difficult to follow, but the school is currently seeking individuals to do play-by-play (see above).

NORTH POLE EXTRAVAGANZA VENDORS NEEDED
The upcoming North Pole Extravaganza is seeking local crafters, and food and jewelry vendors for the annual event that will be located in the American Legion building.

North Pole Extravaganza is slated for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11 this year.
This is a great chance to get an early jump on holiday shopping while helping to support the local businesses and charity groups. Many of these businesses will be offering sales, door prizes, treats and more.
The craft and vendors show will also include a Sloppy Joe lunch being served beginning at 11 a.m. until they are gone, as well as a silent auction that benefits the Christmas Angels program at Minneota Public School.
Bring your camera as Santa Claus will also be arriving via a Minneota Fire Department truck and will be available for photos with the children.
