The first day to sign up for our Winter Reading Program will be Jan, 3, 2024. Every winter, Plum Creek Library System comes up with a new theme for the reading challenge that takes place from January through March.
This year the theme is Read-A-Latte. Our prizes are some ceramic coffee mugs with the Read-A-Latte logo, leather coasters, and Cocoa Bombs. By signing up, you pledge to read 12 books in three months. When you have reached that goal, come into the library to receive a prize. This has always been a popular winter event. If you like to challenge yourself, head to the library next week to join us on this reading adventure to while away those cold, snowy days.

Thank you to all who visited the library and supported us through our silent auction on Dec. 9. Whether it was a child visiting Santa or adults admiring and bidding on the goods being sold to the highest bidder, the library was full of cheerful people celebrating holiday shopping in Minneota.
People always marvel at the beauty of this restored building and share their memories of the Big Store at Christmas time, and we love hearing about all of it. This building has an innate beauty, but we also have a “decorator-in-chief” who delights us with beautiful window displays … thank you, Karen Golden.
The library has many new books to check out, so visit us soon. If you use eBooks or a listen to audio books, all you need is a library card to access many of those titles free through the Plum Creek Library System or Marshall-Lyon County Library. Once you download the Libby or Hoopla apps and sign in, you are set to go.
