It is Porch Pirate season! This means that your packages may be taken from your porch, mailbox or back seat of an unlocked car. What can you do?

(1) Install a quality security camera where your packages are left; something like a doorbell camera.
(2) Have your packages delivered to your place of work where someone can receive it (if your employer will allow it).
(3) If you are not home when a package is delivered but you know it is there, call a friend or family member to come by and get it for you.
(4) Lock your car. Remove items of value from your car, and don't leave items where they can be seen easily through a window. Cover items with a blanket or put items in a trunk.

You work hard for your money and you don't deserve to have a thief take things from you. Also, these crimes are easy to prevent but almost impossible to investigate without quality security video. If you see someone taking items from someone's doorway, please take a picture of them and their vehicle license plate number and call 911.
