Ask the Chief

Parents this is for you ... not all of you. This is for the ones who fail to supervise their children.

The ones who let their kids run wild in town. The parents of the kids that run across the street without looking. Who ride their bikes in the street as if a car can't kill them.

This letter is a warning that your disregard for the safety of your child could cause them to be killed. Many of you will say that it will never happen to your kids. You may be right, but are you willing to bet your child's life on it? How many of you have almost hit a child because they ran out into the street?

How many of you have been angry wondering where parents were after you had to slam on your brakes to avoid killing a kid? Have you ever held the broken body of child in your arms?

I have and I still have nightmares because of it. Parenting is not easy but you need to do a better job.

You have a responsibility to yourself the community and most importantly your children.
