Minneota routs Marshall in opener

The Minneota Senior Legion team routed Marshall Orange 13-0 as three pitchers combined on a no-hitter in the season opener Monday night.

Minneota amassed 14 hits in the win, including three by Ben Skorczewski, Jonah Gruenes, Thor Fischer and Tyler Gronke.

Thor Fischer started on the mound and pitched two innings before leaving with an injury. Braeden Panka and Tyler Gronke finished.

"We played a good game defensively and pitched well throughout the night," said Minneota coach Keven Larson. "We turned two double plays and made the routine plays when we needed to make them. It was good to get back on the field again after the high school season finished up."
