It may not be winning the meet, but when you get to the end and you've got a little extra left in the tank, well ... it's time to try and better yourself.
So Alexander Full of Canby-Minneota saw Sam Fox of Redwood Valley just ahead of him and decided to tive it a try.
He poured on the after-burners and past Fox to place 43rd in a race that included 146 runners.
Full finished in 18:39.8 and Fox came in right behind him in 44th place at 18:40.1.
