Rolbiecki commits to SMSU for volleyball
Natalee Rolbiecki, a two-time All-State volleyball player for Minneota and one of the state's top all-around athletes, will take her talents to Marshall next year after announcing her commitment to play for Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2022 season.
"It's close to home, I really like the program and they are very competitive," said Rolbiecki, when asked why she chose to play at SMSU.
Rolbiecki, also a standout 1,000-point basketball player for the Vikings, decided to play volleyball collegiately.
Rolbiecki, the daughter of John and Karen Rolbiecki, is a three-time Minnesota Class A all-tournament recipient and a two-time all-Camden Conference selection in volleyball. The outside hitter has amassed over 1,000 kills so far in her career.
Rolbiecki and Minneota teammates McKenna Yost and McKenzie Tolk played together for the Southwest Minnesota Junior Olympic volleyball team that recently finished as 17 Premier consolation champions at the AAU Nationals. The team finished 12-2 in pool play and finished 15th out of 139 teams participating.
SMSU is coached by Terry Culhane, who is entering his 18th season as head coach for the Mustangs. He has been named the NSIC Coach of the Year four times, as well as being a five-time state high school Coach of the Year while coaching at Tracy-Milroy and Marshall.
